Chennai-based startup, Frilp, is hoping to give its users just that by connecting them with friends online who can recommend products or services. One could search for a particular business in the existing recommendations or could go for the ‘ask’ option, which allows other users in the circle to respond to the query. If no one responds within a specific period of time, experts identified by Frilp would chip in.

Apparel brand Soch to launch E-store

Ethnic apparel brand Soch is set to launch its own online retail store next month. Soch, which earned revenue of Rs 175 crore last fiscal, started retailing on sites like Flipkart, Amazon and Fashionara last year and these portals already account for about 5% of its sales.

Pakistan fashion brand “Khaadi” to start India operations online

Indians can now place their orders online for Pakistan’s iconic fashion brand Khaadi, known for its traditional hand-woven prints. The label, launched with the intent of reviving the ancient craft of the handloom and popularising the traditional medium, will be a direct competitor to India’s own handicraft and handloom retail repositories – Fabindia and Anokhi.Rates will be based on package weight and destination. Any duties applied by the Indian customs authorities will also be the responsibility of the customer.

E-commerce companies smell money in railway logistics support

E-commerce players have welcomed railway minister Sadananda Gowda’s move to set up logistics support for them, as it would offer them an alternative to the expensive air cargo that they now rely on for delivery. the minister had said the railways would extend “logistic support to various E-commerce companies by providing designated pick-up centers at identified stations.Rail cargo could be up to 45% cheaper than air-cargo, according to distance and volume, as per industry estimates.
